Wrapped Up

this past weekend i attended a friend’s baby christening and i was struggling to find something appropriate to wear. i remembered i ordered a black scallop wrap dress from Dorothy Perkins before Christmas last year and never got to wear it., so i thought that would be the perfect opportunity for it, i paired it with black pantyhose and a black metal capped point toed heels.

Plus i wore my natural hair down for once, still kind off disappointing that they refused to grow back.

the story about my shoes was that i was contemplating buying them because i feel they are too seasonal, if anything i hate spending money on something i know only has hype for a few months or so and than not again. so i was looking for a simple black point toed shoe in Zara and seemed they ran short in my size, so as i was still walking around the mall in search of shoes i saw it through a window in sirens, i went in and bought them first because it was so cheap ( CAD 20)  and i saw something else i wanted and second because i knew i would not need much use of them for too long. now i have beef with the store when i once spent about 150 dollars on a dress online to find it at 25 dollars in that store that is when i started to loathe everything about the store. certainly reminded me of a duplicating country where its citizens look like they squinting all day, a place i would rather not mention.

Academy Awards: Worst dressed list

The Oscars always had people on their feet and i must admit this year’s 2013 was hella long i was about to fall asleep if not for Seth Mcfarlane’s sense of humor.

We always watch to see the celebrities who always show up looking flawless and gorgeous, but honestly i anticipate watching the celebs that show up looking ridiculous. Sometimes i need to look at things in reality, it does not matter how fashion forward you may be sometimes things just dont look good to the the naked eye than in your mind.

Hump Day Designer Crush: Peter Pilotto

I am beyond in love with Peter Pilotto (an australian designer) designs at the moment, when i first saw Kerry Washington in one of his designs at the premier of Django i was not too sure how the dress worked with me, i was not sure whether i liked it for its bold prints and cuts, or disliked it for just that. The more i pondered the more i started coming across PP designs. If you are a lover of prints or aztec designs, Peter Pilotto is the go to designer. His clothes definitely speak for the modern elegant woman.  His dresses have been spotted on celebrities in 2012 and 2013 such as Jennifer Lopez, Kirsten Stewart, Kim Kardashian, Amber Le Bon and on the cast of Gossip girl etc.

Very expensive for the student budget but there are ways to recreate his designs with inspired looks.

Street Style: Miranda Kerr

Second to Olivia Palermo, nobody makes dressing up look as effortless as Miranda Kerr. She first caught my eye in her Louis Vuitton checkboard mini. So i compiled some of my favorite looks by her, looks that will also work good on fuller figured women and not just slender.

Chess Time

Who loves to play chess?

i know i do, i love the rush and the challenge. Its a calculative game and everytime i am stuck in a situation i always think to myself what would Viswanathan Anand do ( reigning world chess champion from India).

Dont get me wrong as woman who has taste for finer things in life ( dont we all) i love the Louis Vuitton handbag collections throughout the years, but i was never really a big fan of their clothes until tonight. When once again i was struggling to fall asleep after an episode of scandal. I was checking out Vogue online magazine just browsing through all the fashion show pictures, until i came across LV’s 2013 Spring runway pictures and boy was i impressed. LV’s CHECKBOARD print really spoke volumes to me. Mainly because of the love i have for the sport.

i had first noticed Jessica Alba ,Kerry Washington and Miranda Kerr in the print, but that did not move me because of the traditional black and white color, but LV brought it this time with the bright color. From yellows to browns and everything in between.

My favorite would definiteley have to be the Yellow and Green. This trend is pushing boundaries here.

I have been on beyonce’s instagram a lot these days and i just love her style to death. I saw this yellow dress and new i had to instantly recreate that look.

Theres something about bright colors that does it for me. I have already ordered the dress despite the fact that i told myself to limit my shopping this year it’s just to hard!
